ABDOMINAL MASSAGE FOR BODY WORKERS

February 9 and 16th, 2019

12 CEU's 9-4 #LCEU0001337

9 AM - 4 PM $300.00 plus $20 manual (or option to get manual mailed and you print out at no charge)

This class has been designed for body workers to learn how to massage the abdomen with full confidence of what lies underneath the outer layers and knowing how much these organs contribute to the well-being of their clients. The anatomy, physiology and proximity of the viscera within the abdomen will be explored, along with their connections to other viscera and muscles through their ligamentous attachments, nerve and blood connections, so that the massage therapist can locate them "visually" through touch on the body to ease tensional restrictions.

The body worker will learn the location and function of the systems of flow through the abdomen: the circulatory system, the lymphatic system, the immune system, and the nervous system, and learn how to facilitate tensional release on these systems, and what the benefits are.

Specific techniques for addressing restrictions directly on organs and indirectly in other areas of the body, such as the shoulder, neck, back, etc. will be included, as well as exploring touch ethics: how to respect, connect and receive permission for touching the abdomen and a discussion of the emotional relation to the viscera and contraindications of abdominal massage.
